The next generation of leaders
Over the past couple of months, SIS has supported some fantastic programmes with universities and business schools looking to inspire the next generation of social entrepreneurs and leaders.
University of Edinburgh Business School #makeyourmark
The first of its kind in Scotland, Make Your Mark is a partnership between Edinburgh University Business School and Weber Shandwick; developing business solutions to address some of society’s most challenging social problems. Opened by Deputy First Minister and social enterprise champion, John Swinney, the event drew in a broad range of key stakeholders to help promote social innovation and social enterprise as a business model of choice.
SIS supported the hackathon throughout, providing expertise and support to help guide idea generation. See here for some feedback on the event.

Stratchlyde University Enterprise Pathway #SEP2017
With 101 participants (students, not dalmations!), SIS supported the delivery of the weekend workshop for Enterprise Pathway. The workshop focussed on business models and social innovation; taking a triple bottom line approach and applying it to their business ideas.
Developed at the University of Strathclyde, the Enterprise Pathway programme provides students and alumni with entrepreneurial learning and business support. The themes of this year’s programme included Health, Smart Cities, and Energy/Power.
The programme wrapped up last Thursday, with a pitch final from the six shortlisted teams. Congratulations to all that took part, there were some fantastic ideas – we look forward to supporting again next year!
