SIS Sign Up To HM Treasury’s Women in Finance Charter
We’re delighted to announce that we have signed up to HM Treasury’s Women in Finance Charter, committing to actions to promote better gender balance and equality.
The Women in Finance Charter is a commitment by HM Treasury and signatory firms to work together to build a more balanced and fair financial industry. Firms, such as SIS, who sign up to the Charter are pledging to be the best businesses in the sector. The Charter reflects the government’s aspiration to see gender balance at all levels across financial services firms.
At SIS, we strongly believe that a diverse and balanced workforce is not only right, but also good for business. The Women in Finance Charter believe a balanced workforce is good for customers, for profitability, for workplace culture and is increasingly attractive for investors. It is this alignment in values and beliefs that inspired us to sign up to the Charter.
This participation comes at a time when SIS is taking action to ensure continued improvements to the diversity and inclusion practices within our organisation. The SIS team has pledge to not serve on all male panels and are encouraging others to question the diversity of event panels.
Alastair Davis, Chief Executive at SIS said;
“We are delighted to have been accepted as a signatory to the Women in Finance Charter, providing recognition of our ongoing commitment to equality and diversity at SIS. This recognition is part of a formal action plan that we have been rolling out over the last few months and although we have made good progress, there is still more to do.”
