At SIS we value the richness of diversity and continually seek to improve our diversity practices.
The activities we are undertaking to progress our diversity aims include the implementation of a blind recruitment process, adopting and encouraging flexible working practices, investing in training and development, and reviewing policies and practice to promote inclusivity.
We strive to be an advocate for diversity in the social investment sector and are committed to monitoring and influencing diversity amongst our partners, suppliers and of those who we support.
In September 2020 Social Investment Scotland signed The Women in Finance Charter. The Charter, created by HM Treasury to address the gender imbalance at senior levels across the financial services industry, commits HM Treasury and signatory firms to work together to build a more balanced and fair industry.
Our gender diversity targets and commitments through the Women in Finance Charter are:
- Alastair Davis, SIS CEO, is the senior executive team member who is responsible and accountable for gender (and other) diversity and inclusion.
- As of September 2020, we have 33% female representation in our six-strong Leadership Team. Our target is to reach at least 40% by March 2021.
- SIS performance management processes link achievement of gender (and other) diversity targets to pay. This applies to the SIS leadership team, and all SIS colleagues, through review of diversity targets, achievements and practice on, at least, an annual basis.
