Could You Make an Impact on the SIS Board?

Applications have now closed.

Despite the challenging times that we find ourselves in, we’re confident that, now more than ever, there is a need for impactful, creative and collaborative organisations. The resilience and innovation amongst Scotland’s social enterprises is proving itself to be quite remarkable and, as a social enterprise ourselves, we’re eager to continue to support the sector in any way we can.

With this in mind, SIS is looking for talented individuals to join our Board and our newly reformatted Risk Committee to support us in our mission of connecting capital with communities to make a real, measurable and sustainable impact upon people’s lives.

We value diversity and, therefore, greatly encourage applications from those with diverse backgrounds and lived experience. SIS uses BeApplied for all applications to executive and non-executive roles and a small group of our team will review applications on a ‘blind’ basis without access to CVs or other background information. Find out more information and apply for the roles below.

Chair: Risk Committee apply here

The Risk Committee is a key part of the governance framework at SIS. Reporting to the SIS group board, the committee reviews strategic, operational and portfolio (investment) risk in line with defined risk registers and reporting frameworks. The committee will ensure that the organisation is operating in line with the risk appetite established by the board in line with its strategy and that, if not, acceptable mitigants and controls are in place to minimise risk as far as is possible. The committee will also have oversight of the risk frameworks in place for subsidiary fund boards.

As a key board member, the committee chair will also be expected to attend and contribute to meetings of the SIS board of trustees, as well as act as an ambassador for the organisation, in partnership with the board chair, other committee chairs and the CEO.
