Alan Mahon Managing Director of Brewgooder Ltd
Social Investment Scotland (SIS) provides investment for charities and organisations looking to make a real difference to people’s lives, society or the environment. Since we started in 2001, we’ve invested over £56 million in 270 social enterprise projects across Scotland.
We conduct an annual SIS customer survey to find out more about our customers’ social impact and the positive effect our investment is having on communities throughout Scotland. This year’s survey had an excellent response rate of 96% from 130 customers.
For the third year in a row, we have made use of Big Society Capital’s Outcomes Matrix. This allows us to measure social impact in relation to fifteen beneficiary groups and nine outcome areas. These reflect what a person needs to lead a full and happy life.
The following report showcases our customers’ social impact in this past year on communities all around Scotland. It also demonstrates how our investment has enabled these customers to continue to solve pressing social issues every day.
