Here is the team at Social Investment Scotland. SIS is also governed by a Board of 13 individuals drawn from a mixture of stakeholders in SIS and other strategic partners.

Craig Campbell - Chief Executive

Craig Campbell Craig is the Chief Executive of SIS. His background is corporate finance with Bank of Scotland where he also created and led the community banking team. During that time he helped create Big Issue Invest, Grand Central Savings Bank and the Wester Hailes Community Banking Agreement. He also spent 2 years on secondment with CBI Scotland shortly after the birth of the Scottish Parliament.

Pete Wood - Head of Market Development

Pete Wood Pete joined SIS as Head of Market Development in October 2009 from Lloyds Banking Group. He has responsibility for all new activities within SIS, including segmented funds and the potential for the development of other financial services. Pete has a Products and Marketing background in both Financial Services and Consumer Goods companies plus experience in joint ventures, e-commerce and has previously run his own business.

Alastair Davis - Head of Investment Team

Alastair Davis Alastair joined SIS in May 2009 and is responsible for managing the Scottish Investment Fund. This includes dealing with all new applicants as well as managing existing investments. A graduate of Strathclyde University, Alastair joined SIS from Bank of Scotland Community Banking and has a wealth of experience dealing directly with social businesses.

Lindsay Plenderleith - Investment Director

Lindsay Plenderleith Lindsay is responsible for all aspects of Social Investment Scotland loans from initial receipt and online application through to post draw down monitoring and support. This provides him with the opportunity to see at first hand many examples of social enterprise at work. Lindsay will be your first point of contact should you wish to borrow from us, with particular emphasis on loans of less than £100k.

Debbie Zima - Investment Support

Debbie Zima Debbie joined SIS in June 2009 and is responsible for all aspects of investment support from initial loan enquiry through to drawdown. In addition, she helps manage existing relationships. Debbie has spent time working in Spain and the USA, where she worked for nine years with the Illinois Facilities Fund, a large Community Development Finance Initiative.

Pierre Stadnik - Existing Portfolio Relationships Manager

Pierre Stadnik Pierre is a member of the Investment Team with responsibility for managing the relationship between SIS and its customers. A key element of his role is ensuring customer financial information is up to date. He also leads our Loan Ambassador Programme which provides funding advice to third sector organisations throughout Scotland.

David Herd - New Markets Development & Funding

David Herd David is Director of Funding and Capitalisation. He joined SIS from Bank of Scotland, where he held a number of senior management posts. David is Chair of the Community Development Finance Association. Previous investments made by David include Gigha Community Energy Company, Cue and Review and DSL.

George Briggs - New Markets Development

George Briggs George is a member of the Market Development Team, which identifies opportunities for SIS to help develop social enterprise markets. He contributes to product development by keeping in touch with the needs of our customer base when it comes to investment finance. George leads our work on renewable energy finance as well as on waste management and recycling.

• Alf Young, Chairman
Alf's business involvements include:-
o Chairman, Riverside Inverclyde, a pathfinder urban regeneration company dedicated to redeveloping the industrial waterfront in Inverclyde.
o Trustee - Caledonian Publishing Pension Scheme


• Nick Baxter

Social Entrepreneur and former social worker Nick Baxter founded learning disabilities charity Cornerstone Community Care in 1980. Nick was one of the driving forces behind the development of Cornerstone over the next 28 years into one of the leading providers of services for people with learning disabilities in Scotland, operating from over 140 locations and with annual turnover in excess of £20m.
Nick served as Cornerstone's Chief Executive from 1999 until his retirement in May 2008 and his contribution to the development of the organisation was recognised in 2005 when he won the prestigious Upstarts Social Entrepreneur of the Year award.

Kenneth Ferguson
A highly experienced Chartered Accountant with experience of the Private and "Not for Profit" sector. He is currently Director of Finance and Resources with Aberlour Child Care Trust, Stirling where he is responsible for the financial control of £20m turnover and 800 staff.
He has close contact with OSCR through the Institute of Chartered Accountants Charity Committee and is interested in developing different financial mechanisms for helping the voluntary sector.

• Manus Fullerton
Manus Fullerton is an Executive Director with Lloyds TSB Scotland, responsible for all corporate and commercial banking activities including business banking, asset finance, and treasury.
He began his career with the Bank of Scotland in Glasgow in 1966 and spent 14 years in London working in International Banking and Treasury before returning to Glasgow to take up a senior appointment in the International Division. He joined TSB Scotland as Assistant General Manager, Treasury and International in 1987 and took up his current position on his appointment to the Board of Lloyds TSB Scotland in 1999.
Manus has an MBA from the University of Strathclyde, is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland and a member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.

 • Lynn Hendry
Trained initially as a Secondary School Teacher, Lynn has worked for over 10 years in and with the "Not for Profit" sector. She has experience of both local and central Government and in these roles has been a member of national working groups both within the UK and in Europe. She has participated in national policy consultation and sounding boards for the development of both enterprise education and health promotion strategies for young people.

• Adrian Lucas
Has 17 years experience as a Chief Executive with the last 8 years as CE of the Scottish Ambulance Service, now retired but is now working as an independent Consultant and Executive Coach.
He has strong public sector knowledge and understanding of political processes.
His other business involvements include:-
o Non executive Director with NHS Borders
o Chairman of an independent London based training, recruitment and development company

• Maureen McGinn
Active in the BIG Lottery as a member of the Scotland Committee with a particular interest in evaluation, research and spreading good practice in voluntary sector. Has experience in setting up a grant making organisation which delivered £4m of youth work projects between 2003 and 2007and from 2007 to 2009 delivered a further £6m in support of effective interventions whilst also playing a strategic role developing best practice in funding through the BIG lottery/Funder's Forum.
Other business involvements include:-
o Chair of the Board of ASH Scotland
o Lead Scotland Ambassador for Tomorrow's People charity
o Board member of FOCUS, a charity supporting work in Uganda.

• Peter Russian
Chief Executive of Investors in People in Scotland, working with more than 3,000 organisations. He is a very strong advocate of training and learning with good Board level experience. Worked towards self-sustaining IIP and has excellent contacts with Scottish Government and other strategic partners.
His other appointments include the following:-

o Board Member, Public Service Improvement Framework
o Member of the UK Advisory Panel on Leadership and Management
o Scottish National Training Awards Panel Judge

• Sarah Smart
Chartered Accountant with some past charities experience but looking to move fully into third sector from mainstream finance. She runs her own management consultancy business, SmartCats Consulting, specialising in improving financial and operational effectiveness for dynamic, ambitious organisations. Has substantial experience as a pension trustee being Chair of MacMillan Cancer Support Scheme and a Board Member of London Pension Fund Authority. Also has good experience of financial instruments and governance issues.

• Michael Stoneham
Michael is a partner in the legal firm Dundas & Wilson CS LLP, and is an acknowledged leading practitioner in banking, project and housing finance.
Michael qualified in 1980 in England, and is an experienced banking lawyer with extensive experience of PFI/PPP projects, housing association financings and energy financings.
