Balkeerie Community Hall

The community of Balkeerie, located in Angus about five miles from Forfar have received planning permission for the construction of a new community hall to replace the existing aging facility. A variety of local community and social groups are fully committed to the project and the hall is expected to be used on a daily basis providing an ongoing letting income, supplemented by a monthly programme of community events such as Barn Dances, Burns Suppers, and Barbeques.

The community have already raised a substantial proportion of the construction costs through a combination of fundraising and grants. SIS is providing the final part of the financing package via a combination of bridging and loan finance to enable the project to move forward to the actual construction phase.
