Maritime Rescue Institute (MRI) is a Scottish Charity based in Stonehaven, Kincardineshire on the North East Coast of Scotland. It Provides the local independent lifeboat for Stonehaven and its surrounding Kincardineshire area. As well as the lifeboat service they engage in Research and Development projects which serves to put them at the forefront of new technology and key maritime issues worldwide whilst giving the staff and volunteers learning and participation. They also train other lifeboat crews both from the UK and abroad and provide educational and awareness programmes to local schools and other youth groups.

SIS helped MRI establish the best way forward and provided a significant loan to help purchase their building and lessen their monthly outgoings.
