Our Borrowers
We lend money to a diverse range of organisations that operate across many business sectors from recycling companies, to community windfarms, to community arts centres and everything in between! What is common to all of our borrowers though is that they set up their businesses in response to identified market gaps for goods and services in local communities. The businesses are also non-profit-distributing, which means that profits are reinvested for local community benefit.
Borrowing from SIS allows social enterprises to increase their capacity, grow their business and increase profitability, and can take the form of a loan, or an equity stake. So whether it's purchasing a local community centre, buying a can crushing machine, purchasing a van, establishing a youth sports facility, we are ready to help.
A few examples of where we've been able to help are detailed below, or click onto News to hear about our most recent borrowers.
